Members of the Obion Fire Department conducted a water rescue Saturday night, to locate and assist a stranded duck hunter on the Obion River.
Fire Department reports said the hunter had been stranded for several hours, and was wet and cold.
Upon arrival at Turnpike Boat Ramp, another duck hunter was at the ramp, and agreed to transport firefighters down river to locate the victim.
Approximately seven miles down river, firefighters located the stranded hunter and his dog.
They were loaded into the boat and transported to the Highway 51 river bridge, where members of the Obion County Sheriff’s Office and Baptist EMS were on scene to provide assistance.
Fire Department reports said the hunter was evaluated and released.
Obion Fire Department launched a second boat to retrieve and tow the hunter’s boat back to the ramp.
