Discovery Park of America will be honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today.
Events will include special programming, a keynote address, performances and hands on activities for children.
The celebration will begin at 11:00 with opening remarks from CEO Scott Williams, followed by the keynote address by UT Martin Chancellor Dr. Yancy Freeman, along with community organizer and activist Joyce Washington.
The Lane College Choir will perform from 11:30 until 12:30, with the screening of the film “Selma” at 1:30 in the Tennessee Room.
Children 17-and-under, and college students and staff with a valid ID, will receive free admission.
Guests are also invited to bring non-perishable food items benefiting Helping Hands Ministry.
