Top Tornado ceremonies at Union City Elementary School on Wednesday drew plenty of smiles and beaming family members.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said four groups of students, that included 85 children in all, were honored by receiving the prestigious award for the second nine weeks of the 2024-25 school year in two separate assemblies.
Students in Pre-K through 2nd grade are recognized quarterly based on behavior, work ethic, and kindness to others. Two or three members of each class in every grade are honored with the accolade.
Administrators Allison Palmer, Bill Kail, and Maggie Miller, along with school guidance counselor Regena Lindsey, participated in the ceremonies and presented each recipient with a certificate, noting the accomplishment, and a Top Tornado button.
