Westview quarterback Graham Simpson has been named the MaxPreps “National Freshman of the Year”.
With the honor, Simpson joins the ranks of other winners that includes Trevor Lawrence, Nick Bosa and Arch Manning.
This past season, the 6’3” 175 pound Simpson led Westview to a (14-1) record and an appearance in the TSSAA Class-3A state championship game.
During his freshman season, he passed for 4,135 yards and 57 touchdowns, with only one interception.
Simpson is the first player from Tennessee to be named MaxPreps “National Freshman of the Year” and ninth quarterback to be selected.
