The Union City Middle School boys wrapped up a spectacular regular season with a 63-50 victory at South Gibson County on Wednesday night.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said the Tornadoes, winners of 18 of 19 games, will enter the West Tennessee Athletic Association Tournament next week in Milan as the tourney’s top seed and will receive a first-round bye.
Kaden Robinson scored 18 points, Preston Crewell added 14, and three other UC players were within a bucket of double figures to help the Twisters beat SGC Wednesday.
Zaven Thompson and Amare McCoy each finished with nine markers, and Brayden Marshall scored eight for Union City, which led 21-14 after one and 37-28 at halftime.
Union City’s girls came out on the short end of a 46-26 score in Game 1.
