The University of Martin will be in the Weakley County Circuit Court room with Dr. Paul Blaylock on January 14th regarding a civil suit.

Circuit Judge Jeff Parham will hear the case as UTM attempts to get the lawsuit against the University dismissed. Regarding inspirational messages Dr. Blaylock had placed inside the Oracle.

Dr. Blaylock, a UT Martin graduate, filed a $15.7 million lawsuit against the university in September, alleging a breach of contract, emotional distress, violation of intellectual property, and defamation libel.

Dr. Blaylock, a native of South Fulton, gifted the “Blaylock Inspiration Oracle” to the University. The lawsuit states that inspirational plaques selected by Dr. Blaylock were removed from display for lack of diversity.
