A “Sea of Blue” and court room dedication will take place Wednesday afternoon in Jackson.
The Jackson Police Department will commemorate the one-year anniversary of the unexpected passing of Sgt. Warren Olden.
To honor the late Sgt. Olden, a “Sea of Blue” will begin at the Carl Perkins Civic Center at 5:00, with the procession of law enforcement to end at the Jackson City Court Building of Royal Street.
While at the Court Building, City Court Judge Blake Anderson will lead a dedication ceremony for the renaming of the courtroom in honor of Sgt. Olden.
The 6’7” Olden served over 29 years with the Jackson Police Department following a stellar basketball career at Union University.
His service to the community included time in the Patrol Division, Crime Reduction Unit and as a Court Officer.
