For the second time, members of the Obion County School Board and Obion County Budget Committee held an informal session.
Members gathered at the Mayor’s Office in Union City on Monday morning to again discuss the financial crisis facing the school system.
During the one hour of discussion, County Commissioner Danny Jowers requested the opportunity to present a proposal to both sides.(AUDIO)
With the possibility that some schools could face closure, Jowers said the best information is needed for all involved in decision making.(AUDIO)
School board member Keisha Hooper expressed reservations about spending additional money for a study.(AUDIO)
With no votes or decisions allowed at the informal session, Budget Committee Chairman Sam Sinclair Jr. closed the gathering by calling for the two sides to meet again on the morning of January 20th in advance of the County Commission meeting.
