Little Rock Women Defeat UT Martin

MARTIN, Tenn.
– After leading for over 30 minutes of the game, the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball team fell to Little Rock in final minutes of Thursday’s game, 66-61, at the Kathleen & Tom Elam Center in Martin.

The Skyhawks led the game for 33 minutes and three seconds Thursday and were on top after each of the first three quarters. However, a 9-0 run at the end of the second quarter and three minute and four second drought to end the game, ultimately led to UT Martin’s undoing.

The Skyhawks were zero for their last five shots of the game and just one for their last seven, despite outshooting the Trojans in the game, 52.3-percent to 40.4-percent. In addition, the Skyhawks allowed the Trojans to score 20 points off 20 turnovers, while Little Rock committed just nine turnovers that led to nine UT Martin points.

Anaya Brown led UT Martin is scoring on the night with 16 points, while Kenley McCarn followed with 12. McCarn had a solid game altogether for the Skyhawks Thursday, leading the team in rebounds, with six, and assists with five. Norah Clark added nine points for UT Martin, while Shae Littleford and Lexi Rubel had seven each.

The Skyhawks return to action at the Elam Center Saturday when they host Southeast Missouri at 1 p.m.  Talk and News WCMT  will broadcast the game at 12:30 on 1410 AM and 100.5 FM
