Former President Jimmy Carter died yesterday at the age of 100.
Carter was the 39th U.S. President and was from Plains, Georgia. He received a degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1946 and later became a submariner in the navy.
Carter was elected to the presidency in 1976 and served until 1981.
