Tennessee Governor Bill Lee is again pushing universal school choice for state families.

The Governor is featured in a new television ad from the American Federation for Children, where he champions the Education Freedom Act.

Governor Lee said the legislation would empower parents with school choice, support teachers and further invest in public schools.

He stated now was the time for universal school choice, which would allow every child to get the education that “fits their needs”.

Currently twelve states have adopted universal school choice.

The Education Freedom Act will be Senate Bill 1 and House Bill 1 when the state legislature returns to Nashville in January.

The Commonwealth of Kentucky had a similar measure on the ballot in November, which overwhelmingly failed in statewide voting.
