The Fall season will come to an end early Saturday morning, with the arrival of the first day of Winter.
Winter solstice will officially occur at 3:21 in the morning.
The winter solstice is the day with the fewest hours of sunlight throughout the year, making today the “shortest day” of the year.
The advantage of reaching the beginning of Winter, is the increase in afternoon daylight hours, which continues until summer solstice and the longest day of the year.
With the arrival of Winter on Saturday, the season will remain in place until March 20th, when the first day of Spring arrives.
