Members of the Obion County School Board and County Commission will now begin the process of finding adequate yearly funding for the school system.
During a joint meeting on Monday night, Director of Schools Tim Watkins said the school system would need an additional $2-million dollars, along with school cuts, over the next two budget years.

Former Obion County Budget Committee Chairman Danny Jowers said the generation of funds for the school system could come through an increase in property taxes of thirty-three cents.(AUDIO)
Plans call for the county Budget Committee to take up the financial issue facing the school system, while the school board will have the task of making cuts through the system.
