The National Weather Service says there is the possibility of heavy rainfall in West Tennessee and severe thunderstorms in Western Kentucky during the overnight hours.

A Flood Watch has been issued that includes Obion, Lake, Weakley, Dyer, Gibson and Henry County.

Forecasters say rainfall of 1-to-3 inches, with some localized areas of 4-inches rain, are possible from 6:00 on Tuesday until noon on Wednesday.

The heavy rainfall could cause flooding in creeks, streams and other low lying areas.

In Western Kentucky, forecasters say the Purchase Area could have a brief, weak tornado, isolated wind gusts up to 60-miles-per-hour, and the possibility of one-inch hail with the passing of a cold front.
