If you’re traveling in or out of Paducah Saturday, consider stopping at the historic Whitehaven Welcome Center at I-24 Exit 7 for its annual Christmas Open House between noon and 5:30.
The historic Whitehaven mansion is decorated and Santa “Fred” will stop in from 2 til 4 to present a candy cane to each child, and the Paducah Ambassadors will answer questions about the historic house.
Visitors will get a chance to reminisce with portrayals of Charles Dickens “A Christmas Carol” and enjoy light refreshments.
Formerly known as the Anderson-Smith house, Whitehaven is an historic plantation house listed in the National Register of Historic places.
Whitehaven is the only historic house in the U.S used as a rest area.
