Fulton County has been honored for their collaboration with adjoining counties for economic growth.

Officials from Fulton County were on hand to receive the National Association of Redevelopment Officials “Impact Award” at the annual meeting in New Orleans.

The award was given for Fulton County’s collaboration and invitation to South Fulton and the counties of Hickman, Carlisle, and Ballard for the Fulton County Rural Partners Network.

In April of 2022, Fulton County was selected in the first group of 48 counties across America, for inclusion in the National Rural Partners Network.

The new program created partnerships with seventeen federal agencies designed to bring economic development through planning, implementation, and grants to rural America.

On hand to receive the award was Fulton County Judge-Executive Jim Martin, Economic Development President for Fulton and Hickman County Mark Welch, Fulton City Manager, Mike Gunn, along with Hickman County Judge-Executive Kenny Wilson and Ballard County Judge-Executive Todd Cooper.
