The Tennessee Comptroller 2024 audit report for Lake County has found material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, and instances of noncompliance with several county offices.
The findings were related to the Offices of County Mayor, Director of Schools, Sheriff, Road Superintendent, and Ambulance Service Department.
The 14 findings included budgeting and purchasing deficiencies. Comptroller Jason Mumpower says many of these issues have been persistent in Lake County for years and have not been corrected.
