The largest methamphetamine investigation in Nashville history has resulted in the dismantling of a cross-country trafficking organization.
Nashville Police Chief John Drake and TBI Director David Rausch announced arrests in the California to Tennessee organization that shipped an estimated 5,000 pounds of the drug in recent years.
Following the start of the investigation in November of 2022, officers have seized more than 800 pounds of methamphetamine and 24 pounds of fentanyl.
Thirteen people were named in the Davison County grand jury indictment, including 34 year old Francisco Velasquez Serrano, of La Puenta, California, who was the source of the shipments.
TBI reports said two Nashville men, 24 year old James Maurice Butler and 40 year old Jeffrey Carl Jones were also at the top of the methamphetamine distribution operation.
Others arrested lived in Nashville, Antioch, Los Angeles and North Hollywood.
