The Tennessee Highway Patrol reported seven traffic fatalities during this year’s Thanksgiving holiday enforcement initiative.
From Wednesday through Sunday, Troopers focused their campaign on roadways during the high traffic period.
Statistics from the enforcement also included the investigation of 93 injury crashes, 1,094 motorist assists, and just over 18,000 total hours worked by the Highway Patrol.
Colonel Matt Perry said the reduction of fatalities this year was a step in the right direction.
Tennessee recorded 12 fatalities during last year’s Thanksgiving holiday period.
