A Union City man has been arrested on charges of employee theft.
Union City police reports said 60 year old Kimie Darnell Pettigrew was taken into custody on the charge of embezzlement.
Police were dispatched to Pocket’s Shell, on West Reelfoot Avenue, where they met with store vice-president Chad Canerdy.
Officers were informed that video footage showed Pettigrew taking money from the cash register on multiple occasions, along with voiding purchases to later pocket the cash.
Canerdy said the current reviewed footage was from November 4th thru November 20th, which indicated theft of just over $548 dollars.
There are plans to review all footage of Pettigrew back to his hiring date in July of 2024.
