USDA Presents $450,000 Grant Check to Fulton County

A crowd of people gathered in Fulton on Tuesday to take part in a grant announcement for Fulton County.

A check for $450,000 was presented from USDA Rural Development to Community Ventures Corporation.

The check, along with local matching funds, will be used for rural community development initiatives.

The grant was in conjunction with Fulton County’s selection by the federal government’s Rural Partners Network Program to assist low income areas.

During the ceremony, Dr. Thomas Carew, Kentucky’s USDA Rural Development Director, attributed Fulton County’s success to their working partnership.(AUDIO)

 

Community Ventures President of Lending, Brenda Weaver, said the grant funds will further move the county forward.(AUDIO)

 

Other speakers included Fulton County Judge-Executive Jim Martin, Fulton-Hickman County Economic Development Director Mark Welch, Fulton City Manager Mike Gunn, Hickman City Manager Jennie Overall and USDA Community Liaison Brad Rodgers.
