The Union City Golden Tornadoes have advanced to the TSSAA Class-A quarterfinals, while South Fulton saw one of their most successful seasons come to an end in Memphis.
Union City took a 24-6 lead at halftime, and went on to beat Memphis Middle College 50-12 Friday night at War Memorial Stadium.
Coach Nick Markle’s (10-2) Tornadoes will now head to Memphis this Friday to face Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering.
(10-1) MASE advanced by scoring 22 unanswered points late to beat South Fulton 44-24 at Crump Stadium.
The Red Devils took a 24-22 lead in the third quarter on a safety, but were then held scoreless down the stretch.
Coach Eric Knott’s Red Devils concluded their season with a record of (9-3).
