Union City police were called to Tyson Foods to investigate two stolen cell phones.

At the scene police talked with 27 year old Mackayla Brooke Martin, of Union City, who said her cell phone and a phone belonging to 20 year old Jayson Smith, of Hickman, were stolen from the break area.

The theft occurred between 6:30 and 8:30 on Wednesday night.

Ms. Martin said her phone was an iPhone 14 pro max valued at $1,500, while Smith’s iPhone pro max was valued at approximately $1,340.

Reports said the phones were initially tracked but were turned off at the intersection of Tyson Drive and Section Line Road.

Police later learned of a phone ping from a location on Elm Street, but a search of the residence did not yield any recovery.

Anyone with any information about the stolen cell phones is asked to contact Union City police or their Crimestoppers Tip-Line.
