Union City Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball Posts Wins

The Union City Middle School girls’ basketball team got back in the win column with a 34-30 victory over Three Oaks Tuesday night.

The Lady Tornadoes rebounded from consecutive losses and improved to 5-2 with the triumph.

Amberly Morgan (9), Aubrii Ross (8), and McKinley Dean (7) combined for 24 points in a balanced scoring effort for the Lady Tornadoes. Hadlee Duncan pitched in six markers for the winners.

Union City held narrow leads at the end of each of the first three quarters (10-7, 14-10, 25-24).

The Twister boys had little trouble with Three Oaks in the nightcap, improving to 7-0 with a 51-21 romp.

Union City’s starters played only in the first quarter but built a commanding 26-2 lead before turning things over to Tornado reserves.

Thirteen different Union City players scored in the contest. Brayden Marshall finished with eight points, while Preston Creswell and Brayson Smith tallied six each.

The Tornado teams will play the first of three straight home games on Thursday, hosting Milan.
