Tyson Foods finished their fiscal year strong due to improvements in the chicken business.
Agriculture Dive reported the good news, saying Tyson Foods more than doubled profits due to a strong demand and operational efficiencies.
Operating income from chicken reached $409 million dollars in the fourth quarter, which equated to a 68-percent jump from the previous quarter and more than double results earlier this year.
Tyson Foods is the largest chicken processor in the United States, with 183 facilities including hatcheries, feed mills and processing plants.
The company operates five facilities in Tennessee, including Union City and Humboldt.
