Kentucky voters voted down the opportunity for school vouchers and non-citizens to cast votes during Tuesday’s State and Federal Election.

In Amendment 1, which would prohibit non-citizens from voting, Kentucky overwhelmingly approved the measure with just over 1.2 million votes in favor, and 727,239 opposing the plan.

In Amendment 2, which would have allowed public funds to go to non-public education, Kentuckians cast almost 1.3 million votes, or 65-percent, against the plan.

During the election, 706,591 votes were cast in favor of school vouchers proposal.
