The Westview Chargers will be at home for the next four weeks assuming they keep winning following a 59-54 win over the Covington Chargers at Graham Stadium Friday night.
Thunderbolt Radio’s Paul Tinkle who called the game Friday night said “it was the largest crowd he’s ever seen at Graham Stadium for a high school game with some 8,000 fans showing up in Martin to watch Westview Chargers host the Covington Chargers.” He said at times the crowd was “deafening.”
Meanwhile Freshman quarterback Graham Simpson set a new TSSAA state record of 624 yards passing in route to an eight touch-down night and 32 of 46 passing.
Westview is expected be a heavy favorite when they play 3 and 7 Memphis Wooddale in Martin Friday night.
Meanwhile the Covington Chargers, whom Westview will likely to come back to Martin on week through, an even larger crowd is likely to show up again.
