The funeral and celebration of life for Ellie Young, a Tennessee medical student who was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend, is set for this afternoon.
WREG reported services will take place at 1:00 at Ripley First United Methodist Church in Ripley.
Miss Young graduated from Halls High School as valedictorian and with honors from University of Tennessee-Martin.
At the time of her death, she was pursuing a degree in medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
She was shot in the parking lot of the visitor’s center at Shelby Farms following a breast cancer awareness walk on October 19th.
26 year old Jackson Hopper was later arrested in Dyer County following a multi-county pursuit and was being held without bond on a charge of first degree murder.
