A husband and wife were killed in separate shootings in Carlisle County last Friday.
Kentucky State Police at Post 1 Mayfield were initially notified that a male had allegedly shot his wife just before 6:30 on Friday night near Bardwell.
Reports said Troopers and officers with the Carlisle County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on County Road 1592 and observed the male at the scene.
During interaction, shots were fired by the individual at the residence, with a Trooper firing shots that struck the man.
The subject was transported to a local hospital by ambulance and pronounced deceased.
While securing the scene, officers located a deceased female at the residence with Post 1 conducting the death investigation.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team was requested by Post 1 to investigate the officer involved shooting.
