Fox13 of Memphis reports that Officers have taken in a person of interest in a shooting that happened at Shelby Farms Park Saturday Afternoon.
26 year old Jackson Hopper has been charged with First Degree Murder, with investigators saying more charges may be issued.
Reports indicate the shooting happened near the park’s visitor center as a breast cancer walk was going on nearby, around 12:15. The suspect drove away and led officers on a high speed pursuit through multiple counties. He was apprehended by officers in Dyer County.
The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect attempted to run over one of its sergeants while evading capture.
