Westview Soccer Advances to TSSAA State Tournament

The Westview Lady Chargers are headed back to the state tournament for the second year in a row, and the sixth time in school history.
A highly efficient offensive attack coupled with a stingy defense shut out the Huntland Hornets, 7-0 Saturday night at the Martin Soccer Complex. Westview’s first two scores came when Hayden Markowski launched two balls across the pitch that Chanler Spendlove redirected into the back of the net in the first nine minutes of the match.
The third goal came on a Brea McGuffin 30-yard laser off an excellent inbound pass by Cambry Hatler. Ashlee Brent added the fourth goal of the half when she nailed a penalty kick after a handball in the 18-yard box.
In the second half, Maddie Horton added three goals to bring the final score to 7-0.
The Lady Chargers (16-5-1) will head to Chattanooga for the quarterfinal match against Lakeland Prep out of Memphis on Wednesday.  The match-up will take place at Baylor High School, the time has yet to be determined.
