Union City police were dispatched to Casey’s General Store, on West Main Street, to investigate a gift card scam.
Around 7:00 last Friday night, an officer was advised by management that two males were grabbing gift cards and acting as if they were putting cash on the cards.
The police report said the cashier at the store allowed the individuals to conduct the scam, but was unaware of what she did.
The gift card scam included three cards, with a total of almost $1,352 taken.
The identity of the two individuals is not known at this time, but an investigation is ongoing.
