More than 450 Soldiers and Airmen with the Tennessee National Guard continue to support East Tennessee areas impacted by severe flooding following Hurricane Helene.

Brigadier General Trent Scates says there is currently no time line for how long the National Guard will be helping.

General Scates went on to say the National Guardsmen are just helping their fellow Tennesseans. He mentions items that victims of the flooding will be in need of.

Guardsmen are currently providing 24-hour, ground and aerial rescue and relief support to those in need with efforts focused primarily on Carter, Cocke, Greene, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties.
