Motorists around the local area are being urged to use caution due to an influx on vehicles on the highway this weekend.
The 53rd annual Reelfoot Lake Arts and Crafts Festival is projected to draw around 30,000 visitors during the three day event.
Many roadside yard sales are also being held along the travel routes to Reelfoot Lake.
Heavy traffic, and long back-ups of traffic, are common near the festival site on the banks of Reelfoot Lake.
To help with traffic flow, all blacktop work on Highway 22 from Union City to Samburg will be halted for the weekend.
The festival started Friday morning and will continue through Sunday.
