The Delta Regional Authority has awarded more than $500,000 to four communities through the Strategic Planning Program.
The program allows recipients the ability to address long-standing issues, while developing a road map for economic growth and revitalization.
One of the latest grant recipients is the Everett Stewart Regional Airport in Union City.
The local airport was awarded $128,000.
The funds will be used to engage in preliminary engineering and design planning focused on expanding the airports current hangar, taxi lane and ramp space.
The expansion at the airport will allow continued growth of aviation related businesses, and the attraction of new businesses.
