Union City Middle School Cross Country Wins Lexington Invitational

Another meet meant more hardware for the Union City Middle School boys’ cross country team.

School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said the Tornado boys added to their plaque collection on Monday, winning the Lexington Invitational.

Madix Turner, Brody Fields, and Cooper Waggoner headlined another stellar showing with medal-winning individual efforts.

Turner (11:59) finished fourth, Fields (12:11) was fifth, and Waggoner (13:02) placed 22nd for the Purple and Gold.

Jake Lattus (13:26, 26th) and Nash Norsworthy (13:41, 35th) rounded out the Union City showing in a field of 187 runners in the two-mile race.

Camden Watts (14:19) and Will D. McKinnis (14:30) posted a 1-2 finish in the jayvee race.

Stephen Herrell (15:07, 13th) also medaled for the UC boys. Walter Harder finished in 26th place.

On the girls’ side, Hadlee Duncan (14:46, 16th) earned a medal in the varsity competition, while Chloe Baumgardner (16:28) was runner-up in the jayvee race.

There were 25 schools in the field.
