Union City’s first band competition of the season ended with positive reviews.
School Communications Director Mike Hutchens said the band earned five awards at South Gibson County High School on Saturday.
During the Hornet Invitational four of the awards were 1st or 2nd place.
The Marching Tornadoes placed first in Percussion and Color Guard in their classification, and second in the Drum Major and Band.
Overall Union City claimed a fourth place finish from twenty-one bands in all classes.
Union City is scheduled to host their annual marching festival on Saturday, with hopes that weather will cooperate for the event.
