The Tennessee Fish and Wildlife Commission discussed a proposal to increase license prices during their recent meeting at Paris Landing State Park.
During discussion, it was reported the agency has seen a dramatic increase in their costs since license prices were raised in 2015.
Tennessee law allows the Fish and Wildlife Commission to increase license fees in line with the consumer price index inflation.
The agency proposal would increase boating registration fees by 22-percent, the majority of hunting and fishing license prices to increase by 28-percent and Sportsman and Lifetime license rising 12-percent.
The public comment period for the proposed license increase will be October and November, with the Commission to vote on the issue at their December meeting in Memphis.
