pow-wow-3

The second annual Northwest Tennessee Native American Educational Pow-Wow will take place in Union City.

Discovery Park of America will host the four day event starting on Thursday.

The goal of this event is to provide a place for Indigenous people from tribes around the country to celebrate their culture, while educating local visitors on this aspect of our nation’s past, present and future.

This year’s Powwow will include competitions and displays of Indigenous storytelling, drumming, singing and competition dancing.

There will also be Native American artisans, craftsmen and traders displaying and selling their work.

The event will begin Thursday with a free concert from 5:00 until 8:00 by acclaimed musician John Lone Eagle and Friends

All activities during the four day event will take place on Discovery Park’s great lawn.
