Obion County Law Enforcement Departments Receive Safety Grants

Law enforcement departments in Obion County have been announced to receive federal grant funds.

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office announced $33.5 million dollars to support highway safety education and enforcement statewide.

Announced to receive grant funds was the Union City Police Department, Obion County Sheriff’s Office and Kenton Police Department.

Union City police will receive a total of $40,000 for police traffic services, with the Obion County Sheriff’s Office awarded $34,765 for impaired driving enforcement.

The Kenton Police Department will receive $10,000 for high visibility enforcement.

Funding for the departments will be distributed from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for the 2024-25 federal fiscal year.
