A memorial plaque was recently presented to officials in Samburg in recognition of former Police Chief Chris Cummings.
Union City Police Department Lt. Melvin Dowell made the presentation to Samburg Mayor John Glessner, interim Police Chief Kent Treece and Council members.
The plaque was from the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.
The 53 year old Cummings passed away of an apparent heart attack on December 10th of 2023.
Cummings served the country in the Army and National Guard, and was a police officer with the Union City Police Department and the Obion County Sheriff’s Office.
