A Crockett County student has been charged for making a false bomb threat to Crockett County Middle School.
Officials at the middle school found a note on campus indicating a bomb threat for a later date, prompting law enforcement to conduct a thorough investigation to assess the credibility of the threat.
School administration worked with the Crockett County Sheriff’s Office and Homeland Security to identify the individual responsible for the threat.
The individual responsible was identified and confessed to writing the note. Investigators determined that the student did not have the means to carry out the threat.
The student has been charged with filing a false report which created an emergency response and will appear before Judge Conley in Juvenile Court.
