The Westview Lady Chargers picked up their fifth win of the season Tuesday night over the Dyersburg Lady Trojans. Five different players scored in the 5-0 victory.
Westview (5-2) jumped on the board when a Tess Anderson free kick found the right foot of Chanler Spendlove in the 19th minute. An Ashlee Brent laser from 27 yards out gave Westview the 2-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, Hayden Markowski hit a streaking Maddie Horton down the middle of the field to stretch the lead to 3-0. Cambry Hatler and Gryphon Rowland found the back of the net to round out the scoring.
The Lady Charger defense has been stellar all season. Dyersburg only managed five shots on the night, with two of them being on target. Those two were swatted away by goalkeeper Kella Simmons, one of which was a penalty kick that the freshman read correctly in the first half.
Sophomore Alyssa Williams was the defensive star Tuesday. She along with Kaydence Papich, Anderson, and Brea McGuffin made shots difficult for the Lady Trojans.
Westview returns the pitch Thursday night against powerhouse Madison Academic at the Martin Soccer Complex. First touch is scheduled for 6:30.
