The Tennessee Department of Transportation will assist motorists with their Labor Day travel.
TDOT has announced that all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways will be halted.
Construction crews will stop lane closure activity from noon on Friday until 6:00 on Tuesday morning.
With Labor Day weekend known as the unofficial end of the summer vacation season, TDOT Commissioner Butch Eley said thousands of travelers are expected to use Tennessee roadways for their destinations.
Commissioner Eley said halting the lane closures will allow maximum roadway capacity for motorists to reach their destinations.
