The latest unemployment report for Tennessee showed Weakley County with the highest jobless rate in the state.
The July report by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development showed Weakley County’s jobless rate at 6.2-percent.
This rate was an increase from 4.5-percent unemployment in the June report.
The monthly numbers from around the local area had Henry County and Dyer County at 3.7-percent, followed by Gibson County at 3.9, Obion County at 4.7 and Lake County at 4.8-percent.
The overall monthly report indicated 77 state counties saw a drop in their jobless rate, with eight remaining the same and ten showing an increase.
