Warrants were issued for a Union City man after he almost struck a police officer at a Union City school crossing.

Police reports said officer Seth Callens was directing traffic at the school zone at Oak Street and Miles Avenue, when 73 year old Larry Wright failed to obey a signal.

Wright’s Nissan Altima stopped at the entrance of the elementary school, almost striking officer Callens.

When told twice to back-up his vehicle, Wright failed to respond and then sped off with disregard to other motorists and property.

Police reports said Wright’s vehicle was located at Autumn Wood Apartments, but was gone when an attempt was made to serve arrest warrants for reckless driving and failure to comply with a police officer.
