UT Martin begins classes today meaning new students spent the last few days getting acclimated to their new home in dorms and off campus.
Restaurants, Walmart and other stores saw a busy weekend while a number of UT Martin students attended some local churches for the first time.
Martin Police Chief Phillip Fuqua and UT Martin Police Chief Michael O’ Neill have expressed caution to students and driving in and around the campus.
Motorist are reminding motorist to slow down especially on University Street, Mt. Pelia Road, Lindell Street, Hannings Lane and Skyhawk Parkway. UT Martin’s Chancellor is Dr. Yancy Freeman . He is beginning his second year as the University’s Chief Officer. Approximately 7,000 students are enrolled at UT Martin’s campuses.
