A Weakley County family has been awarded young farmers honors.
Chris and Carly Fowler were named the winner of the District 1 Tennessee Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award.
The Fowlers were named the winner based upon their farm and financial records from 2023, in addition to their leadership on the farm, in their community and in Farm Bureau.
As a fifth generation on the family’s farm, the Fowlers raise more than 6,000 acres of corn.
Chris also serves as Secretary on the Weakley County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and as Chairman of the county’s Young Farmers and Ranchers chapter.
The family received $500 in cash and $1,000 in Tennessee Farm Bureau services.
