In a press release from the Weakley County school system, officials have been notified this morning of unusual emails that were received overnight by a faculty member of Greenfield School. Law enforcement was notified early Monday morning, and an investigation was launched.
As a precaution, additional law enforcement is present at Greenfield School.
Principal Jamie Doster said that the school day is running on schedule.
Ms Doster said “the safety of students, faculty, and staff is taken seriously here at our school and in our district.” Law enforcement is actively investigating the emails.
“We are thankful for the quick response from our district team and law enforcement, and we look forward to a great rest of the day of teaching and learning,” Doster acknowledged.
Director of Schools Jeff Cupples said “we appreciate the faculty member who notified us of the emails so we could make notification to law enforcement, who immediately launched into action. An early response is crucial, and as always, we are grateful for local law enforcement and our continued partnership.”
