For the second time in as many games, a Lady Charger recorded a hat trick and the defense kept their opponent out of the scoring column.
Junior Maddie Horton scored three times Thursday night when Westview (2-0) made the trip to Troy to take on Obion Central. Horton found the back of the net just two minutes into the match that ignited a firestorm of scoring. Sophomore Ashlee Brent scored her first of two goals on the night just one minute later.
It took all of 45 seconds for Horton to notch her second goal courtesy of an exceptional through ball by Cambry Hatler that led to a wide open run on the net.
Junior Chanler Spendlove scored her 4th goal of the season 20 minutes later with a header off of a Brent corner kick.
Horton secured her third goal in the 26th minute and her night was finished.
A pair of Freshman, Brea McGuffin and Sophie Bowlin, along with Sophomore Alaina Uselton each carded goals as well on the way to the 9-0 victory.
The Lady Chargers have not allowed a goal in their two matches this season.
Westview will head to Murfreesboro this weekend to compete in the highly competitive Tri Star Cup.
